The Times Higher Education World University rankings has been providing reliable information on university performance for students and their families, academics, university leaders, governments and industry since 2004. The World University Rankings team creates university rankings to assess their performance on the world stage and to provide resources for readers to understand the various missions and achievements of  higher education institutions .

The ranking covers three main areas of university activity: research, influence and publications.
