Dummy Competition 2019

On 22 May, the Department of Strength of Materials and Engineering Science of the Faculty of Transport Construction held Dummy Competition 2019, where students demonstrated farm and bridge crossing models and tested their strength.

The competition is aimed at familiarizing students majoring in construction with world trends as well as gaining experience in prototyping real models and the ability to assess the best constructive solutions.

Rector of the University, Prof. Mykola Fedorovych Dmytrychenko made an opening speech for the competition which was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Transport Construction, Olena Serhiivna Slavinska, the Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Transport Construction: Andrii Volodymyrovych Bubela and Vitalii Mykolaiovych Tsybulskyi, the Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Automotive and Mechanical Engineering: Vitalii Mykolaiovych Tsybulskyi, Mykola Pavlovych Tsiuman as well as the teaching staff of the departments.

The tests on destroying models were carried out and the winners of the competition were determined in the presence of Rector.  Students Tamoian Torn Hahikovych, Lysiuk Vitalii Andriiovych and Karpenko Ivan Anatoliiovych won the award for the most unique model while students Budliantsev Bohdan Oleksandrovych, Veherenko Ivan Anatoliiovych and Kusai Anna Viacheslavivna won the award for the strongest model.

The winners were awarded the Diplomas and Cups by Rector of the University, Mykola Fedorovych Dmytrychenko while the Student Council of the Faculty of Transport Construction presented movie tickets to the winners. Rector promised further assistance in holding Dummy Competitions in the University and encouraged our students to take part in international competitions.
