The Department of Computer, Engineering Graphics and Design dates back to 1944 under the title “Descriptive Geometry and Drawing”, headed by the first Head – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor E. B. Vitkupom.
In 2009, the department becomes a graduate, trains specialists in the modern and popular specialty “Design”, trains specialists engaged in artistic and technical activities in the field of industrial design.
Since 2014, Mykola Petrovych Kuzminets, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Academician of the Academy of Construction of Ukraine and the Lifting and Transport Academy of Ukraine, Laureate. of M. Budnikov Prize in the field of construction has been the Head at the Department of Computer, Engineering Graphics and Design.
In recent years, the Department has been developing modern directions of geometric, mathematical and physical modeling of transport facilities and constructions, conceptual design projects of vehicles and futuristic design projects of infrastructure and objects of the transport industry.

The Main Research Areas of the Department lecturers:
- geometric, numerical and physical modeling of the complex spatial load from the effect of mobile transport of Ukrainian highway bridges;
- geometric, mathematical and physical modeling of the interaction of machine working equipment with the environment in the conditions of performance of works along with dangerous objects;
- development of conceptual design projects of motor vehicles, taking into account their aerodynamic characteristics and improvement of exterior and interior of special transport vehicles;
- development of futuristic design projects of vehicles, infrastructure and objects of the transport industry.
