Biography:
Mykola Dmytrychenko was born on December 19, 1952 in Sniatyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region, into a family of teachers. In 1976, he graduated with honors from the Mechanical Faculty of Kyiv Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers, where he worked his way from graduate student, lecturer to professor, head of the department, and vice-rector of the university.
In 2000-2002, he held the position of the Department Head of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. He was a member of the commission of specialists for the development of the draft law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”, the Concept of Development of Distance Education in Ukraine and other legislative and regulatory acts in the field of higher education.
From 2002 to 2024 – rector of National Transport University and head of the Department of Manufacturing, Repair and Materials Engineering.
A renowned specialist in mechanical engineering. Author of over 400 scientific papers, including monographs: “Elastohydrodynamics: Theory and Practice”, “Lubricating Effect of Oils under Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication”, “Lubricating Processes under Non-Stationary Friction”; textbook: “Higher Education and the Bologna Process”, “Tribology and Basics of Machine Reliability”, “Mechanical Processing (Cutting Modes). Developer of a number of new methods for increasing the wear resistance and reliability of machines.
Completed internships at higher education institutions in the UK, USA and Canada. Speaks English fluently.
