Opening of the Education and Research Center for Road Machines, established jointly by National Transport University and Zeppelin-Caterpillar
On October 8, 2018, a National Education and Research Center for Road Machines, established jointly by National Transport University and Zeppelin-Caterpillar, was opened at National Transport University. The Center was created within the framework of Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the University and the company. Zeppelin-Ukraine transferred an excavator CAT 305, with a further updating of the range, a set of diagnostic and measuring equipment, licensed computer diagnostic programs for the Center. It is a unique center in Ukraine. The main purpose of the Education and Research Center is to improve education and scientific level and the quality of university students’ training. The purpose of its creation is to establish modern European level of training of students, who will be ready to work in transport enterprises and organizations involved in operating, testing and providing services for road construction machinery. It is not a secret that for training of highly skilled specialists, it is essential to provide not only theoretical courses but also to introduce practical training, which reaches a new level of efficiency and meaningfulness with the opening of the Center. All these will lead to improving in education programs for specialists’ training in the fields of Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Power Machine Building, Computer Science and Construction of Transport Facilities.
The Rector of National Transport University Prof. Mykola Dmytrychenko and Director of the Construction Machinery Department of Zeppelin-Ukraine Mr. Edgar Harutyunyan opened the Education and Research Center. The solemn ceremony was attended by students, lecturers and staff of the University.
