Opening Ceremony of the VІІІ International Taras Shevchenko Student Literature Competition

On October 10, National Transport University hosted the opening of the VІІІ International Taras Shevchenko Student Literature Competition held in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 928 dated September 30, 2010. The aim of this event is to pay honor to prominent Kobzar. For some people he is an irreconcilable fighter for freedom, for others – an inspired poet. He is a measure of our conscience, our truth; his immortal works are great advice for the present and future of Ukraine.

The competition was opened by Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Law, Dr. Yarova R.V., Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Prof. Khoroshun B.I., Head of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation, Dr. Shevchuk L.O. The opening ceremony was a great opportunity to enjoy a display of different editions of Taras Shevchenko’s  Kobzar  as well as to listen to the  participants reciting Shevchenko’s everlasting poems.

Dr. Shevchuk L.O. gave a short speech on the requirements of the competition and student research papers. All NTU students willing to participate in the competition carry out the research project entitled “Ukraine of my Dream”.

Research supervisors have to submit the projects for the first (correspondence) stage of the competition to the jury by       November 15, 2017.

First stage prize-winners will defend their research projects at the University competition.
